At the north east of Argentina, close to Brazil and Paraguay, in the middle of the Guarani land, the autochtones rhythms were mixed with those of the immigrants of Central Europe, Russian, Polish, Jews.
Chamamé is resulting from these meetings and keeps a strong influence of the polca. It is a merry music, danced, its strong development was happen specially in the province of Corrientes.
The accordion and the guitar are the dominant instruments, but one finds sometimes harpe and even bandonion.
This music is one of most important of the universe of the Argentinas musics of the provinces.
