The tango compose and interpreted for the ball had, along almost a half-century, an incredible, rich and very important development.

Various styles were born and the orchestras did not cease bringing their touch. Then, the tango for the ball has, logically, some difficulties to produce, today, compositions and a new and contemporary style.

Some and very good orchestras (Color Tango, Los Reyes del Tango, Fernandez Fierro….) produce tango for the ball. But they play on the style made by some Maestros of the Gold decades (Pugliese, Di Sarli…) and even with interesting arrangements and the advantage of the improved techniques of recording, one cannot really speak about a new tango ball.

Would there be a tango of today for the ball, other that the nuevo or the electro one? It seems to us that the tango produced by Rodolfo Mederos with his Orquesta Tipica can be that one.

The rhythmic impulse is well for the ball, the orchestra plays the melodies with an attachment to the traditional of the tango; esthetics is indeed of today, clear, being inspired and perpetuating to feel the D' Arienzo, Pugliese, Di Sarli, Lomuto ...... years.

He, like few others, and among them Esteban Morgado, has the preoccupation and delicacy to bring a quite current tango to us, to remain on the pista in the abrazo which offers to us the traditional tango.

Mederos adds to his choice, tangos of Filiberto, Arolas, Greco, Villoldo, Piana and works of his own composition.
