Francini - Pontier / Vol 1 - 1946/1952

Band: Francini / Pontier
Label: EuroRecords

Calle Corrientes, the principal street of the tango at Buenos Aires on the Thirties and Forties the Tango Bar occupied a particular place in the heart of the tangueros and because his important place in the tango night.

On September 1st, 1945 at this Tango Bar the orchestra of the Maestros Francini-Pontier start it career. The first of them was a remarkable violonist, the second not less méritoire a bandoneonist, and both also composers.

In this Cd all with instrumental interpretations, we have recordings made between 1946 and 1952.

The orchestra had full of good musicians, and it is necessary to make a special mention of the pianist, Juan Paz, which had become the fundamental axis of the group.

Francini-Pontier developped a very reach musical tango, they take care to produce a beautiful and high level interpetations. Their tango is alive with slow times, with romantic accents but without proposing long melody passages.

The pieces includes in this Cd are compositions of Francini and Pontier as well from musicians of the orchestra: A pedido from the pianist J.J. Paz or A dos puntas from the bandoneonists J Salomone and N Paracino.

Arrangements had taken a very important place in the tango, which enriched this music much. Thus we find splendid arrangements in the pieces played by the orchestra, arrangements made in majority by Armando Pontier, but we find also some of Argentino Galvan, Astor Piazzolla and Emilio Balcarce. Three major names on the Argentinian tango.
