El sentimiento of abrazar of Silvia Di Florio
Documentary on the musician Raul Barboza
"My intêrét for Raul Barboza, this remarkable
musician accordeonnist, is filled of family references since I
remember.
I commençé to cover the subject and has more systematically to
approach me his music since 1999 when Barboza came to Argentina after
a long abscence (Barboza lives in Paris since 1987). With this
occasion was born in me the idea to make documentary on him.
I interviewed it at the time of the years 2000 and 2001, in
various cities and villages of the interior from Argentina like in
Buenos Aires and at his place in Paris. During this exploratory
stage and of research I could appreciate at his place his talents of
musician like his little capacity commune of reflexion.
Its thought and its poetic speech are rich, deep, such its music
which leaves are accordion to offer his music to us: chamamé.
With through this film I wished:
- To reach to the Barboza-musician as well, as in Barboza man of
reflexion, which thinks of its ground, its ancestors, his instrument,
art, life.
- To seize the gasoline of its music and apréhender so
particular nuances as an interpreter of accordion.
- To notice the transmition of its music like value essence and
trascendental of the Argentinian culture.
- To pay a homage personal to the large artist who it is.
The DVD of this film has just left in April 2005 to France
