A man leaves prison and starts a tour in the canoe in the
jungle. Its objective is to find his/her already adult daughter.
However, a deep mystery emerges from the man and his boat.
This mystery emanates from nature and people who all, with their
manner, remain impenetrable.
Notes of the realizer
In my first film Libertad I followed one day in the life of a simple man. (It)
was important (...) to take into account the way in which he
apprehended the solitary life that he carried out.
In my new film Los Muertos I
observe a man who is released after having lived in captivity.
It is a question of seeing how, minute after minute, he will
rediscover the world whereas he advances in the canoe in the jungle
towards the family house. The world of this man appears through
small actions. It turns over food in a space where one saw from
day to day. The interest is to see how its routine is modified
and how the world changes around him.
(...) my narrative work is founded on the observation and a
comparison with the places and the inhabitants. From there, I
build a simple scenario, a scheme of adequate work and I immerse
myself in a deep interaction between people, the characters, the
places and the moment to turn.
Lisandro Alonso comes from a family of artists. His/her
father is campaign and bought there is ten years a farm in the Pampa
where the realizer likes to go to work the ground.
