It was then the only title which belonged to an impulse or a new esthetics in the tango: electro, heteroclite mixings ......

In this first Cd produced by Gustavo Santaolalla we find, treated in a very particular and very innovative way the works of Adriana Varela, Adrian Iaies, Cristobal Repetto, Pablo Mainetti, Jorge Drexler...

Santaolalla developpe in the Tango landscape the concept Bajo Fondo. He deploys a very particular work around and for the tango, towards the Argentinian music, and the music of Rio de la Plata.

We will not forget what he did withLeon Gieco, and the film musics with which in 2006 for Broackeback Mountain and 2007 for Babel he received the Oscar of the best film music.
Well, here we speak about the Santaolalla tanguero

After his first production Bajo Fondo Tango Club he reaches the wish of the Uruguyan artist Luciano Supervielle so that his work be include in the concept Bajo Fondo.

After that was produced Bajofondo remixed, Pa' bailar, Mar dulce and Café de los Maestros produce by Santaolalla and Gustavo Mozzi, a homage to the still alive artists who form part of the great tango tradition.

Here we propose like a Total Bajofondo. We include also a Dvd from a Concert at Teatro Solis.

We need to take attention to what Santaolalla propose with his Bajo Fondo concept , because it is in a dynamics of musical contribution, musical opening, offer and selection of artists who propose another approach to the tango, we can say a kind of soundtrack for the porteños of the third millenium.

For some this does not belong to the world of the tango; for others this work gives him an actuallity, a fresh restoration.

Anyway, it exists and its artists feel to belong to this of the Rio de la Plata, carry a a new environment.
