(Toulouse December 11, 1890 - Medellin June 24, 1935).

The total artist. That which became the prototype of the singer of Tango. All along its career it goes from success in success, evolving/moving unceasingly in its art.

It is born in Toulouse, in France (although a controversy persists), coming from a rather humble social background. Little after its birth it emigrates in Buenos Aires, its town of adoption for always.

After having done, as of its childhood, several work and having tested various trades, it starts to sing with Razzano of the songs of the pastoral repertory.

Carlos Gardel had a special magnetism and a mysterious appearance. This mystery continues to increase when, still young person, it dies following an air crash in the Colombian city of Medellin, where it is still venerated like a saint.

Gardel was one of the large singers of the XXème century. Since always, in Argentina, for saying to somebody who it is the best in its field, one is accustomed to saying: ' It is Gardel'.
